In this passage Job gets badly injured by Satan who got permission from God to hurt him but still spare his life. God gave Satan this pemission because he trusted Job enough to know that he would not turn from God that he was willing to hurt him. Week 8 Bible Reading
Wed. Job 1:1-22 The Testing of Job
In what situations are you most likely to question God’s care?
In situations when I get in trouble with my parents, get hurt, or get my feelings hurt, I start to question God's care. God will never EVER stop caring and loving us because if He did we would all be dead now because we are sinners and God cannot be in contact with sin because He is so perfect. In this story Satan came to the Lord and the Lord told Satan he could do something wrong to Job because he knew Job would follow the Lord and do the right thing. Satan then went to Job's household and burned his field but still Job did the right thing. One day I hope to be trusted by God as much as God trusted Job.

Week 8 Bible Reading
Tues. Esther 6:1-7:10 God Protects His People
When is it helpful to remember that God is still in control of the world?
It is helpful to remember that God is in control of the world when I am having troubles in the world. I remind myself that God is in control and that every thing that happens, happens for a reason of God's plan. In this passage Mordecai is honored. He is honored instead of Haman who I am sure was not at all happy about it. Haman thought he was going to get the king's blessing so he gave him many ideas that were wonderful. In the end Mordecai had gotten the blessing and this all happened because he was a man of God who controls the whole world.

When was the last time you did something scary to obey God?
The last time I did something scary to obey God was when I knew I made a bad grade on a test and knew I was going to get in trouble for it but I still told her the truth about the test. Even though sometimes I recieve consequences for not studying enough I know I did the right thing by telling my parents the truth. In this story Esther risks her life. She risks her life by going to ask the king and Haman to come to her banquet. The king and Haman both say yes and Haman goes home to tell his family that the king and himself were the only ones invited to the banquet and his family had an idea. The idea was that he should have a pole set up and have Mordecai's body impaled on it.

When are you tempted to compromise your faith?
I am tempted to compromise my faith when I am sometimes in a group with my friends ans they may not be doing the right thing and I will follow. I never need to compromise my faith because that is not what real faith is. In this story King Xerxes put Haman in a place of high honor. All of the people were told to bow down but Mordecai, the jew, did not bow down. He knew God was to be praised and not Haman. When Haman heard that Mordecai was not going to bow down he was enraged.

The people that were read the Bible tried to do exactly what the Bible told them to do.The day they read the Bible was one of the most joyous days in all time and Ezra read the Book of the Law everyday to the people.

Tues. 2 Kings 22:1- 23:3 Discovery of the Lost Book
What happens in your life when the Bible is a “lost” book?
If my Bible gets lost I am not too happy about it. I love going to church to learn a new lesson and reading a scripture from my Bible that could help my whole life improve. In this passage the book of the law is found. A high priest found it and brought it to Josiah, the king, and he was angry so he tore his robe. He tore his robe because he found out his people have been doing wrong by making idols and worshipping them which is wrong in the eyes of the Lord. All of the king's people were punished except for Josiah because he humbled himself.
