Week 8 Bible Reading
Fri. Job 38:1-41 God Speaks to Job
What things around you remind you of God’s greatness?
Things around me, such as the earth, remind me of God's greatness. It reminds me because I have to know absolutely no one on this earth could ,even come close to creating a planet as God did. Only someone magnificent as God could which is NONE of us. In this story the Lord speaks to Job out of a storm. He tells Job everything that he has done and His greatness. He asks him questions like ''can you do this'' because God knows He can but humans cant. God has done so many great things and will definitely continue to do more.

Thurs. Job 2:1-13 Job and His Friends
How do you normally respond to someone else’s pain?
How should you respond?
Normally, I respond to someone else's pain by feeling bad for them. I should probably pray for them and try to help them if I can though. In this passage Job gets badly injured by Satan who got permission from God to hurt him but still spare his life. God gave Satan this pemission because he trusted Job enough to know that he would not turn from God that he was willing to hurt him. Even his wife said curse God but Job didnt because he knew that it would be a mistake.

Week 8 Bible Reading
Wed. Job 1:1-22 The Testing of Job
In what situations are you most likely to question God’s care?
In situations when I get in trouble with my parents, get hurt, or get my feelings hurt, I start to question God's care. God will never EVER stop caring and loving us because if He did we would all be dead now because we are sinners and God cannot be in contact with sin because He is so perfect. In this story Satan came to the Lord and the Lord told Satan he could do something wrong to Job because he knew Job would follow the Lord and do the right thing. Satan then went to Job's household and burned his field but still Job did the right thing. One day I hope to be trusted by God as much as God trusted Job.

Week 8 Bible Reading
Tues. Esther 6:1-7:10 God Protects His People
When is it helpful to remember that God is still in control of the world?
It is helpful to remember that God is in control of the world when I am having troubles in the world. I remind myself that God is in control and that every thing that happens, happens for a reason of God's plan. In this passage Mordecai is honored. He is honored instead of Haman who I am sure was not at all happy about it. Haman thought he was going to get the king's blessing so he gave him many ideas that were wonderful. In the end Mordecai had gotten the blessing and this all happened because he was a man of God who controls the whole world.

Mon. Esther 5:1-14 Esther Risks Her Life
When was the last time you did something scary to obey God?
The last time I did something scary to obey God was when I knew I made a bad grade on a test and knew I was going to get in trouble for it but I still told her the truth about the test. Even though sometimes I recieve consequences for not studying enough I know I did the right thing by telling my parents the truth. In this story Esther risks her life. She risks her life by going to ask the king and Haman to come to her banquet. The king and Haman both say yes and Haman goes home to tell his family that the king and himself were the only ones invited to the banquet and his family had an idea. The idea was that he should have a pole set up and have Mordecai's body impaled on it.
