Week 5 Bible Reading

Mon. John 1:35-51 Jesus’ First Disciples
How would someone know that you believe in Jesus?

4 comments:

  1. Monday: I would try and preach to them to prove that I believe in Jesus. I have preached before not like an actual preacher but I tell them the basic stuff about Jesus. In this story John sees the Lamb of God. He was with people who would also become disciples along with John and Jesus showed them where he was staying so they spent the day with Jesus. Then Nathaneal found out about this and believed that Jesus was really God so he also became a disciple.

  2. Tues. John 2:1-25 Jesus & Surprises
How has Jesus surprised you in your life?

Jesus has surprised me in my life by the people he has put in my life. Some people I love and some people I dont necessarily like but I know God has put them where I am for a purpose. In this story Jesus changes water into wine at a wedding and tells Jerusalem to tear down the market. The people at the wedding were compltetly out of wine and Jesus told them to draw water and put it into jars. The master of the banquent then tasted the ''water'' and knew it was turned into wine. Then
jesus went to Jerusalem and saw that there was a huge market. He told them to stop selling things in the Lord's house and to tear it down. After they tore it down he would rebuild it but they refused because it tooke them 46 years to build it.

  3. Wed. John 3:1-21 Jesus & Nicodemus
When did you first meet Jesus? How?

I met Jesus a long time ago when I actually knew who Jesus was. I ''met'' him in kindergarten at Bethany. In this passage Nicodemus gets confused because God says you have to be born again. He asked, ''How could an old man be born again? surely He wouldn't come from his mother's womb.''God said'' this is very true but to recieve eternal life in heaven you must be born again in the Spirit.'' I love this scripture more than many things of the world because it is telling us all we have to do to recieve eternal life is to believe and take God as your Savior.

  4. Thurs.
    Matthew 17:24-18:6 Who’s the Greatest?
Does Jesus’ teaching about who is the greatest surprise you? Why?

Jesus' teaching about who is the greatest does not surprise me. It does not surprise me because we need to know what the greatest acts like so we can act like them too. In this story Jesus actually tells who we have to be like. Jesus said the greatest in this world is the children. He also told us that if we do not take the lowly position of children we are not going to be accepted in the kingdom of heaven.

Fri. Mark 10:17-31 Jesus & the Rich Man
What’s the hardest thing Jesus could ask you to give up?

In this passage a rich man came to Jesus and asked what he could de to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him that all he had to do were follow the commandments and give to the poor but he refused the offer because he was very rich. Then God asked his disciples why it was so hard for them to give. God then said, ''Who ever leaves his mother, father, children, brothers, sisters, etc. will have a harder life because God wants us to honor all of them. The hardest thing Jesus could ask me to give up would be my mom. I love my mom more than anyone on this planet even though sometimes I don't respect her like I should. If I had to lose my mom I would have the worst experiences in my life.
